The Red Cross is the largest humanitarian organization in the world. It started out of the need for quick deployment of aid in wars and calamities, but its scope has enlarged to provide assistance to everyone in need today.
The Committee of the Red Cross approached 180 Degrees Consulting Bocconi regarding its CEM center, which offers neuropsychiatric treatments to patients with severe disabilities. CEM was undergoing a complex period, entailing privatization and financial realignment after years of losses.
180 Degrees Consulting Bocconi was tasked with developing financial and strategic recommendations to enhance the center’s efficiency. We performed an in-depth analysis of the organisation’s economic, financial and health performance; a competitor analysis of similar centers in Italy and Lazio; and benchmarking from similar centers in France, the UK, and Germany. These three macro-components were grouped in a data-driven long-term strategic reform plan.
The project was supervised by an external advisor at a major consulting firm, who provided invaluable insights for this complex project. Red Cross is now implementing our recommended strategy.
